Mappings

DataBridge uses mappings to define how data flows between Business Central and Dynamics 365 Sales. A mapping specifies the correspondence between source fields and target fields, ensuring data consistency and proper transformation during synchronization.

Mappings consist of several key elements:

  • Key Resolution: Determines how records are matched between systems, often using custom keys or unique identifiers (e.g., searching for a Business Central System Id in the target system).
  • Source Definition: Specifies the source table or API and its attributes in Business Central.
  • Target Definition: Specifies the target table or entity and its attributes in Dynamics 365 Sales.
  • Field Transformation: Defines how each source field is mapped to a target field, including technical names and display names, and may include transformation logic or formatting.

Mappings are configured to ensure that data is correctly identified, transferred, and transformed between systems, supporting both standard and custom business requirements.
