User Experience
While DYCE API Connector for Dataverse operates primarily as a background synchronization service, users will notice integration enhancements in several areas of Business Central.
Contact Card Enhancements
When viewing contact records in Business Central, users will directly see the Dataverse ID field, which displays the corresponding record ID in Dynamics 365 Sales. This provides immediate visibility into the connection between Business Central contacts and their Sales counterparts.
Opportunity Card Enhancements
The Opportunity card includes new fields that help inside sales teams identify opportunities more efficiently:
- Dataverse ID - The record ID of the corresponding opportunity in Dynamics 365 Sales
- Dataverse Opportunity No. - Shows the Sales system's opportunity number
- Dynamics 365 Sales Information FastTab with key details from Dynamics 365 Sales:
- Expected Closing Date - Projected close date from Sales
- Expected Revenue - Revenue forecast from Sales
- Dynamics Sales Link - Direct hyperlink to open the opportunity in Dynamics 365 Sales
These enhancements provide Business Central users with immediate visibility into sales activities and enable quick navigation between systems.
When an opportunity is created by Sales, it will automatically be activated in Business Central. Therefore, it is important to have a default Sales Cycle Code defined in your Business Central setup.
To set up sales cycle codes, follow the official Microsoft documentation: Set Up Opportunity Sales Cycles and Stages. Sales Cycle Codes help structure your opportunity management and ensure new opportunities are activated correctly.
Dataverse Integration Log Entries
DYCE API Connector for Dataverse logs integration-relevant events for synchronization with Dataverse. This includes deletions and certain transfers for the following tables:
- Contact
- Country/Region
- Customer Discount Group
- Customer Price Group
- Language
- Manufacturer
- Organizational Level
- Salesperson/Purchaser
- Salutation
- Sales Header
- Sales Line
Additionally, transfers from sales quotes to orders are logged.
Entries are created automatically when records are deleted or transferred, enabling DataBridge to process these changes in Dynamics 365 Sales.
Processed entries are marked by DataBridge, and a retention policy is created when DYCE API Connector for Dataverse is installed.
Retention Policy
By default, DYCE creates retention policies for integration log entries:
- Processed entries are deleted after 1 month
- Unprocessed entries are deleted after 6 months
You can customize retention policies as needed. For more information, refer to the official documentation: Data Retention Policies in Business Central.
