Project details

The third tab in the project card contains the project's DETAILS. This is where the masterdata for a project is recorded and the connection to a project in Business Central is established.

General

In addition to the Name or title for the project, an extended Description can be stored. In addition, a Logo can be assigned to the project for better visual differentiation - e.g. in the project list.

In the Customer field, the customer can be selected from Business Central using the lookup. The same applies to the Project (Business Central) field. The related Business Central project is stored here, from which the budgets can be transferred.

Independent project planning

With DYCE Project & Resource Planning it is possible to plan projects without first having to create a project in Business Central. The link to a project in Business Central can also be created subsequently. Even without a project from Business Central, the project plan can be created and the workload of the people can be calculated and any bottlenecks identified.

The Status field offers the option of assigning a status to the project. This field is primarily used for filtering in the Project list.
The Tentative button serves several purposes. In addition to the option of filtering for it in the Project list, projects marked in this way are also marked there with a question mark (?) symbol. However, the main task is to either include or exclude the tasks of these projects when displaying the workload of the people. This affects both the Overview of people and the Planning of the individual projects.

What-if simulation

The Tentative button can be used to carry out a what-if simulation, e.g. by not including tentative projects in the capacity utilization calculation, but removing the indicator for individual projects if required. As a result, the user receives the capacity utilization including the current project.

Scheduling

The project duration is determined based on the start and end date.
The Scheduling Mode specifies the default setting for new tasks. The following options are available:

  • Scheduled with fixed duration
  • Manually scheduled
  • Auto scheduled

For further details on the planning mode, please refer to this part of the documentation.
