From DYCE Subscription & Recurring Billing to Microsoft Subscription Billing
To switch from DYCE Subscription & Recurring Billing and DYCE Usage Based Billing to Microsoft Subscription Billing, a migration routine is available for data migration. This is included in DYCE Subscription & Recurring Billing from version 2025.7. The execution of the data migration routine is subject to a charge (in the form of password protection) and must be purchased from Singhammer IT Consulting AG (further details see below).
Prerequisites
Business Central 2025 release wave 1, Update 3 (BC26.3) and later provide the necessary prerequisites for data migration and compatibility of other DYCE apps with Microsoft Subscription Billing.
In addition to updating to this or a newer version of Business Central, it is therefore also necessary to update all DYCE apps to at least version 2025.7. If there are also customizations in the form of per-tenant extensions (PTEs), compatibility with the corresponding versions of Business Central and the DYCE apps must also be established first.
Notes
- The Subscription Billing module in Business Central can now be extended in principle. However, as usual, not all areas are already accessible. Missing extension options may have to be requested directly from Microsoft in the usual way.
- The migration routine for data migration can also be extended for customer customizations.
- The routine transfers all data from DYCE Subscription & Recurring Billing and DYCE Usage Based Billing to Microsoft Subscription Billing. The data in DYCE Subscription & Recurring Billing and DYCE Usage Based Billing is then deleted.
- The WORD layouts adapted for Microsoft Subscription Billing will be provided in one of the next hotfix releases.
- The migration routine provides the required indirect permissions for the tables in which the users are not allowed to write directly. In addition, however, the permission sets DYCE SRB Admin and Subscription Billing Admin (or SUPER) are required to run the data migration.
- The execution of the migration routine is subject to a charge (see below).
- Sunsetting DYCE Subscription & Recurring Billing and DYCE Usage Based Billing:
- From 15.07.2025: No more new feature requests, only bug fixes
- From 31.12.2025: No more new integration events and extensibility requests
- As of 30.06.2026: End of life for DYCE Subscription & Recurring Billing and DYCE Usage Based Billing and the associated deactivation of the apps on AppSource
- The changeover must therefore be completed by 30.06.2026.
Procedure
If the above prerequisites are met, the conversion from DYCE Subscription & Recurring Billing and DYCE Usage Based Billing to Microsoft Subscription Billing can be carried out.
We recommend testing the implementation of the data migration, the compatibility of the DYCE apps used and, if necessary, the updated customer customizations in a sandbox before converting the production system. Business Central, DYCE apps and any customer customizations should therefore be updated in this environment first.
The routine for data migration is included in DYCE Subscription & Recurring Billing from version 2025.7. A password is required to run the routine. A password is valid for one calendar month. The passwords required to carry out the data migration can be obtained from the Singhammer IT Consulting AG sales team.
Carry out data migration
- Make sure that you are using the role center DYCE Subscription & Recurring Billing. This step is optional, as the next step can also be started independently from the role center used. However, this role center makes it easier to call up the Service & Contract Setup page and displays the tiles with values for DYCE Subscription & Recurring Billing entities.
- Open the Service & Contract Setup.
- Call up the action Run Data Migration to Microsoft Subscription Billing.
- To perform data migration, the next step is to enter the corresponding password.
- Monitor the progress of the processing. Once processing is complete, the Data migrated to Microsoft Subscription Billing field in the Data migration fast tab is activated.
- Repeat the data migration for all companies.
- Then call up the action Run Permission Sets Migration to Microsoft Subscription Billing. However, this only makes sense if the standard permission sets for DYCE Subscription & Recurring Billing and DYCE Usage Based Billing have been used by the users. Otherwise, add respective standard permission sets for Microsoft Subscription Billing manually or create custom ones. Once processing is complete, the Permissions migrated to Microsoft Subscription Billing field in the Data migration fast tab is activated.
- Data migration can only be carried out once per company.
- Switch to the role center Subscription Billing to check the migrated data.
- Check whether all permission sets have been migrated correctly. If the users use the standard permission sets for DYCE Subscription & Recurring Billing and DYCE Usage Based Billing, these users should have been assigned the standard permission sets from Microsoft Subscription Billing.
- Verify that Microsoft Subscription Billing works as expected with the migrated data. For example, review the use of subscription packages, as well as the creation of new billing proposals and contract invoices.
Compatibility of other DYCE apps with Microsoft Subscription Billing
The following DYCE apps are already compatible with Microsoft Subscription Billing:
- Price List Import incl. usage data references
- Happy Texts incl. extended description in the contract lines
- Easy Bundle Seller
- Essentials incl. report layouts With the exception of DYCE Price List Import, these apps also require Business Central 2025 release wave 1, update 3 (BC26.3).
For technical reasons, the following DYCE apps also require Business Central 2025 release wave 1, update 3 (BC26.3):
- Project Billing
- IT-Business Toolkit
- Prepaid Services
- Time Tracking
- Project & Resource Planning
- Managed Service Providers - with version 2025.7 not yet fully compatible with Microsoft Subscription Billing, but still requires Business Central 2025 release wave 1, update 3 (BC26.3)
- Recurring Prepaid Services - with version 2025.7 not yet fully compatible with Microsoft Subscription Billing, but still requires Business Central 2025 release wave 1, update 3 (BC26.3)
The following DYCE apps will support Microsoft Subscription Billing functionality shortly (planned: mid-August):
