📄️ Data Exchange Definitions
This is a standard functionality of Business Central, which is explained in this part of the Microsoft documentation. However, since it is fundamental to the import and subsequent processing of usage data, at least the aspects relevant to DYCE Usage Base Billing will be summarized again here.
📄️ Suppliers
A Usage Data Supplier is the business partner who provides the usage data for subsequent processing. This is usually the provider of the services for subsequent processing.
📄️ Customers & Subscriptions
In addition to the usage data that changes per import, there is also data that has more the character of master data, since it does not change. This includes both the customers for whom the usage data is imported and the subscriptions on the basis of which the link to the Service Commitments to be billed is established. In the case of the customers, this is supporting but not necessary data, whereas without a subscription, no billing of usage data is possible.
📄️ References
In order for usage data to be processed and billed at all, the system must find all additional data required for this purpose. First of all, this includes the Subscription, which in turn is linked to a Service Commitment, which is part of a Vendor or Customer Contract.
📄️ Service Commitments
Since DYCE Usage Based Billing is an extension of DYCE Subscription & Recurring Billing, only the differences are discussed here. For more information on Service Commitments and how to set them up, please see this part of the DYCE documentation.
