Manage Project Task and Planning Lines
The Manage Project Tasks page in the Sales Order simplifies the creation, management, and budgeting of Project Tasks (PT) and Project Planning Lines (PPL), which are essential for the create, releasing, posting and invoicing of time recordings. The page allows users to easily divide the budget from a single Sales Line into multiple, fine-grained budget, structured Project Tasks and to provide better visibility into budget allocation.

The following section describes how Project Tasks and Project Planning Lines can be created and edited directly from Sales Orders.
Manage Project Tasks
The Manage Project Tasks page provides a centralized, structured view of your budget allocation. It is opened in the Sales Order via the action with the same name. To open the page, the Sales Order must already be linked to a Project. When opened for the first time it displays all Sales Lines with a Service Billing Type. When Project Tasks and Planning lines have been created, they are presented in a tree view.
Page Structure (Tree View)
- Top-Level (Parent): Sales Lines (only those for professional services). These represent the total available budget.
- Child Elements: The corresponding Project Planning Lines (PPL) Budget that have been or will be created under that Sales Line. Each PPL links to a seperate Project Task.
The individual lines are labeled by the Line Type (Sales Line or Project Planning Line). It cannot be edited. Description, Quantity, Quantity (Initial) and Status can be edited.
