Features and Fixes for Time Tracking

DYCE Time Tracking

Features

  • The Select a template dialog has been redesigned as a large dialog that shows many templates at once, grouped by category. Templates can be searched across all their fields (description, customer, project, project task, activity, Work Order), and a preview pane shows the selected template's values before it is applied.
  • A single instance or company URL parameter is now enough to open a workspace, as long as it identifies exactly one. If it could match several, the URL is ignored and the last used workspace loads as before. See the URL documentation for details.

Fixes

  • A Non-Billable Reason that has been selected manually is no longer overwritten when the billable duration is changed afterwards. (SD-578)
  • The billable duration is now rounded according to the activity again when an activity is removed and then selected again. (SD-512)
  • After selecting an activity, opening the activity selection again no longer narrows the list down to the project task that was filled in by the first selection. Clearing the activity also resets the budget information to the original customer and project.
  • New Work Order lines in the budget dialog are now inserted at their sorted position right away instead of appearing at the top until saved. Without a chosen sort column, lines are sorted by Project Task No.

DYCE Time Tracking for Jira (Forge app)

Features

  • Time recordings can inherit their assignment from a Jira Assets object linked to the work item. If the asset carries a job planning line, Fast Tracking pre-fills customer, project, project task, and planning line from it. A new source indicator next to the assignment shows where the pre-fill comes from (asset, Work Order, Work Order line, space, or organization) and lists the resolved values. See the documentation on creating Service Assets for details.
  • The Work Log tab has been redesigned as a flat list with the date and start time of every entry, sorted newest first by default. It can be sorted by date or user in either direction, and sorting by user adds a subtotal per user. The chosen sort order is remembered, and the list is paginated.
  • Space admins can decide whether non-billable time recordings reduce the remaining estimate of a work item, for example to keep travel time from eating into the estimate. The setting is in the space settings under Work Logs, with a space default and optional defaults per work item type. It applies to new time recordings; existing ones are not recalculated.
  • A new Log work in DYCE command opens the Advanced time recording dialog for the current work item. It is available in the Jira command menu (opened with the "." key) and through the keyboard shortcut T directly in the work item view.
  • The Advanced dialog has a Save & New option that keeps the dialog open for the next time recording: the new start is the previous end, and the assignment from customer to project task is kept. The keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+Enter, Ctrl+Shift+Enter) are shown on the buttons.
  • The Budget and Advanced dialogs can be expanded to a larger size and closed with icons in the top right corner. The expanded state is remembered per dialog and user.
  • Closing or cancelling the Budget or Advanced dialog with unsaved changes now asks for confirmation before the changes are discarded.
  • The Work Order's resource is now kept in sync with the work item's Assignee, both when the assignee changes and when the Work Order is created.
  • A new Set Custom Work Order Field Jira automation action transmits the values of selected Jira custom fields to the Work Order, creating the Work Order if needed. Values from earlier calls are kept. The Get Work Order action now also returns these custom fields.
  • Users whose Atlassian account uses a different email address than their DYCE user can now use the app. Admins can edit a DYCE user's email address, and B2B guest users added from Microsoft Entra ID are matched to their invited address automatically.

Fixes

  • Users without the Jira Work On Issues permission can now see the time recorded on a work item instead of being blocked from the app. They cannot record new time or change entries, and existing time recordings open read-only. (SD-576)
  • When the initial assignment in Fast Tracking fails to load, the error message now names what could not be loaded and shows the reason reported by the backend instead of a generic text.
